Tribute & Message From The Family

Mr. William D. (Bill) Mills Jr., 82, died Thursday April 21, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William D. Mills Sr. and Esther Cassidy Mills, and a daughter Cynthia Mills Walsh.
He is survived by his wife of 561/2 years, Shirley Burch Mills and a son and daughter in law John and Marjorie Mills of Bethel Park, PA.
Mr. Mills was a 1946 graduate of Albany High School, attended North Georgia College for a year and the University of Georgia for a year before enlisting in the U.S. Navy School of Music as a Percussionist and spending four years as a musician in various Navy Bands.
Upon returning from the Korean War, he earned his degree from the University of Georgia. While there he was a member of the First Georgia Redcoat Marching Band.
After graduation he was hired by Westinghouse Electric Corp. and spent 35 years with them before retiring. At that time he had the distinct honor of being the youngest Director of Purchasing at their Pittsburgh, PA headquarters.

Bill made some wonderful memories with the pictures he took. He was not only a good photographer but a very nice person. One of the best from Albany High School Class of 1946. He will surely be missed.
