Betty Jean Culbreth, 80, formerly of Albany, died Friday, July 31, 2014 in Panama City Beach, FL at her home.

Her funeral service will be at 11 AM Saturday (Today), August 2, 2014 at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate.

Mrs. Culbreth was born in Miller County, GA, grew up Blakely, and graduated from Early County High School. She was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church and participated in the Pastor's Sunday School Class. Mrs. Culbreth joined the WMU many years ago. She worked for the Dougherty County Department of Family and Children Services, and retired in 1996. Mrs. Culbreth was a volunteered as a Pink Lady at Palmyra Hospital. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Culbreth, and by several siblings.

Mrs. Culbreth is survived by her husband: Hershell L. Culbreth, Panama City Beach, formerly of Albany; a son: Robert L. "Bob" Culbreth and his wife Staci, Newnan, GA; 2 daughters: Lee Sasser, Panama City Beach, FL, Donna Elliott and her husband Mike, Lee County; 4 grandchildren: Mariah Wallace and her husband Jason, Roswell, Kyle Elliott and his wife Amanda, Hiram, GA, Hannah Culbreth, Sarah Culbreth, both of Newnan; 4 great grandchildren: Isabelle Elliott and Joshua Elliott, both of Hiram, GA, Andrew Wallace and Brian Wallace, both of Roswell; 1 sister: Charlotte Krause and her husband Kurt, Colorado Springs, CO; a niece: Ruth Adkins and her husband Roscoe, Lee County.

The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5-7 PM.
