Mrs. Carrie Washington, 93 passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Pruitt Palmyra Nursing Home.

Her funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, July 21, 2014 at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors with interment to follow in Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. Allen Bingham will officiate. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 PM Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Washington was born, June 6, 1921 in Calhoun, Gordon County, GA. She was the youngest of 13 children and at her passing was the only surviving child.

During World War II, Mrs. Washington worked at Bell Bomber Plant in Marietta, GA as a riveter on B-17 and B-29 Bombers. After moving to Albany, she worked at Coats and Clark until she retired and was an active member of 8th Ave Church Of God.

She was preceded in death by her Husband T. E. Washington and a daughter, Sherrell Potts.

Survivors include her son: Warren Baldwin and wife Jeanette; daughters, Teresa Dabu and husband Rudy, Cherry Underwood, Venae Washington; son in law, Earl Potts; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
