Edward Maurice Brandenburg, 82, died Friday, May 30, 2014 in Carrollton, GA. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church in Leesburg. Visitation will be held at 10:00AM one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev Bobby Harrell will officiate.

A native of Carroll County, GA, Mr. Brandenburg had resided in Leesburg, GA. He retired from Kroger Grocery Store in 1988 after thirty six years, was a Mason in Macon, GA, Lodge 448 and was a member of First Baptist Church in Leesburg where he taught Sunday school for forty eight years. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 60 years, Betty W. Brandenburg.

Survivors include his wife, Clarice Brandenburg of Leesburg, a son, Edward Maurice Brandenburg Jr. and his wife, Judy, of South Hill, VA, a daughter, Deborah Holladay and her husband, Mark, of Hamilton, GA, two brothers, Daymon Brandenburg of Opelika, AL and Gary Brandenburg of Heard County, GA; 3 grandchildren Rachel Gowder and her husband Daniel, Sarah Harris and her husband, John and David Brandenburg; 6 great-grandchildren Naomi Gowder, Luke Gowder, Wyatt Gowder, Lyla Harris, Maribelle Harris and Nathan Harris.
