Mrs. Evelyn Perry Stahl, 83 of Westgate Dr. in Albany went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 8, 2014, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be Saturday 11 AM at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Evelyn was born on May 31, 1930 in Helena, AR, to Paul and Dorothy Perry and graduated from Messick High School in Memphis, TN in 1948. She married her sweetheart, Steve, and they would have celebrated 63 years of marriage this July and were blessed with five children. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother whose world centered around her family. She always welcomed her friends and family with a sweet smile and warm embrace. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, loved to cook, quilt, garden, exercise and dance. Evelyn also loved to travel and frequently said the highlight of her travel was being baptized in the Jordan River with her husband. Evelyn loved people, had a servant's heart and she portrayed Jesus' love to everyone that met her. She loved and served the Lord and was very active in her church, Byne Memorial Baptist of 38 years. She was a loyal friend, had a gentle spirit, and always had a soft spoken kind word that made everyone feel special.
Mrs. Stahl was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Richard H. Miller, brothers and sisters, Mildred Allen, Peggy Jane Perry, Geneva Perry, Earlene Alberson, Paul Perry, Jr., Carolyn Gould, Marjorie Rainey, Duane Perry and Joe King Perry.
Survivors include her husband, Steve T. Stahl of Albany, her children, Steven Michael Stahl and his wife Anita of Charlotte, NC, Linda Susan Miller of Albany, Mark Richard Stahl and his wife Deborah of Hobe Sound, FL, David Kevin Stahl and his wife Gina of Albany and Julie Stahl Dorman and her husband Randy of Dallas, GA, nine grandchildren, Sara Denson and her husband Jeff, Phillip Stahl, Christopher Miller, Lindsey Miller, Mark Richard Stahl and his wife Jennifer, Michael Adam Stahl, Samantha Wallace, Nicholas Dorman and Jessica Dorman, one great grandchildren, Kaylee Ann Stahl, two sisters, Margaret Mitchell of Germantown, TN and Marilyn Ledbetter of Euless, TX and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
