Mrs. Jeanine U. McComas, 46, of Sylvester died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Hospital. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00AM at Baconton Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Brother Jeff Barker will officiate.

A native of Wyandotte, MI, Mrs. McComas had lived in Sylvester, GA since 2005, coming from Oceanside, CA. She was a school teacher with the Dougherty County School System since 2004. She loved adventure and travelling and was married to her high school sweetheart, John.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, John McComas, two daughters, Cheyenne and Kristen McComas, a son, Jack McComas, all of Sylvester, a brother, Daniel Updike and his wife, Mary, of Fowlerville, MI, two sisters, Karen Golema and her husband, Doug, of Wyandotte, MI and Clare Updike of Rockwood, MI, her father, Bob Updike, of Wyandotte, MI, her mother, Pollyanne Updike, of Brownstown, MI and several nieces and nephews.
