Mr. Leonard M. Knight, 90, of Albany died Monday June 23, 2014 at Lee County Health Care.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday 11:00AM at Byne Memorial Baptist Church with interment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Charlie Brown will be officiating.
Born in Sylvester, GA, Mr. Knight lived in Albany most of his life where he was a retired. He worked 55 years in the Automobile Industry his entire career as a salesman, sales manager and owner. He was a member of the Exchange Club of Albany for 53 years where he was a Past President, Exchangite of the year and was serving as the Honorary Chaplain of the Exchange Club. Mr. Knight was also a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church where he was Chairman of the Deacons and served in many different positions at the Church. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty T. Knight.
Survivors include three sons Wayne Knight and his wife Nell of Sylva, NC; Darryl Knight and his wife Terry of Pensacola, FL; Gary Knight and his wife Penny of Lee County; a daughter Gina K. Clark of Philadelphia, PA; one sister Francis Lenox of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren Heather Knight, Amy McLeod, Brian Knight, Sarah Clark, Jason Clark, and Suzette Knight; a sister-in-law Katherine Knight of Albany; A sister-in-law Merle Knight of Dawson, GA.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern and will be at his residence 2724 Ledo Rd. Apt V-19, Albany, GA 31707.
