Mildred Parrish Edge, 92, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at Henry County Nursing Home in Abbeville, AL. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Riverside Cemetery, with visitation to be held Thursday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. George Bryan will officiate.

A native of Abbeville, AL, Mrs. Edge had lived in Albany from 1940 until 2004. She retired from Southern Bell after 33 years of service as an operator. She was a former member of the Rose Garden Club, Telephone Pioneers and CWA Union. Mildred was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn "Deanie" McDermott of Pompano Beach, FL, a grandson, Shawn McDermott and his wife, Andrea, of Davie, FL, a granddaughter, Erin Hopper and her husband, Charles, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, three great grandchildren, Brandon McDermott, Christopher Hopper and David Hopper and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and her husband, James Charles Edge, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Anchorage, 162 Hampton Dr., Leesburg, GA 31763 or Albany Community Hospice, 2332 Lake Park Dr., Albany, GA 31707.
