Mr. William "Bill" Quincy Sanders Jr., 78 of Albany died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at his residence following a lingering illness. He was escorted by a heavenly host of angels, to his eternal residence to dwell with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

His funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2014-at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Chapel with internment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev, Allen Bingham will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Kimbrell-Stern.

A native and lifetime resident of Albany, Mr. Sanders was a graduate of Georgia Tech. He was a member of Albany First Assembly of God for more than 35 years and served on the Deacon Board of Albany First Assembly for several years. An engineer by trade he was employed by Western Union in Europe for 4 years and then with his family Manufacturing firm here. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Arlette Hagstrom Sanders of Albany, his daughter Kristine "Kristy" Hufstetler of Leesburg, his grandchildren Kasey Styck of Jacksonville, FL and Skylar Wilson of Leesburg; two sisters: Mary Alice Anderson (Luke) of Augusta, GA and Pat Sanders of Albany.

While Bill will surely be missed by his family and friends, we rejoice knowing he has traded gravel paths for golden streets.
