GySgt James (Jim) W. Bramble, USMC (Ret'd), 71 of Melrose Dr. in Albany died July 13, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 11 AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Pontzer officiating. The interment service will be held Wednesday July 18, 10 AM at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors.
A native of Philadelphia, PA Mr. Bramble has lived in Albany since 1979 where he was an active member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the VFW. He served in the United States Marine Corp. as a combat engineer, and retired with 20 years of service as a nuclear weapons instructor. He worked for the City of Albany as the Assistant Director of Emergency Management, then became the Director of Emergency Management and retired with 20 years of service as the Disaster Coordinator for the City of Albany. Mr. Bramble will be remembered most for the love he gave his family and as a diehard Eagles and Phillies fan.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Bramble of Albany, son, Jimmy Bramble and his wife Susan of Leesburg, daughter, Beth Ann Lansman and her husband Trevor of Albany, grandchildren, Claire and Sean Lansman, Bevriell and Kazden Bramble.
Mr. Bramble was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William and Evelyn Vogel Bramble, and his brothers and sister.
A prayer service will be held Monday at 7:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:30 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
