Mildred Geraldine "Jerry" Bradshaw Sexton died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be held Friday at 4:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern with Dr. Ron Baxley officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to funeral time.

Mrs. Sexton was the daughter of the late William Lewis Sexton and the late Lillian Holland Bradshaw. She was born April 27, 1926 in Thomaston GA. Jerry attended Thomaston High School. On January 15, 1947 she married Clyde E. Sexton of Gadsden, AL, where they raised their four sons. She was a member of the Dahlia Garden Club for several years and held offices of First vice president and president. Jerry was on many committees such as programs and yearbook committee and was chairman of the Projects committee and the Civic Improvement Project, a program to improve school grounds in Gadsden, AL. Mrs. Sexton received many awards and ribbons during her years in the club. After moving to Albany in 1969, Mrs. Sexton worked for the Dougherty County School System, where she retired in 1996 after 21 years of service at Lake Park Elementary School lunchroom. After her retirement, she enjoyed arts and crafts, yard work, sewing and spending time with her family. She loved to travel and especially loved the North Georgia Mountains.

Mrs. Sexton is survived by two sons: Steve Sexton of Leesburg and David Sexton of Rebecca, GA, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sexton is preceded in death by two sons, Mike Sexton and Ricky Sexton, a sister, Martha Bradshaw Fowler and two brothers, Danny Bradshaw and Jack Bradshaw.

The family is at the home of Steve and Judy Sexton, 214 Hartley Lane, Leesburg, GA.
