Mrs. Mary Shields Schler, 100, died Wednesday February 15, 2012 at Phoebe Sumter Hospital.

Her funeral service will be Saturday 10 AM at First United Methodist Church with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, GA. The family will receive friends Friday 6 to 8 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.

A native of Carthage, NC, Mrs. Schler had lived in Albany since 1965 moving here from Augusta where she owned and operated Schler's Florist. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Sapp Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Schler was a member of the Atlanta Artist Center, Albany Museum of Art and Georgia Artist Guild of Albany.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Schler, a son Robert Schler and a daughter Patricia Stemme.

Survivors include her son John Schler (Martha), Winnisquam, NH; grandchildren, Teresa Conley, Marlene Stemme, Kristin Mayo (Joe), Paul Schler (Rebekah), Marykatherine Schler; great grandchildren, Tyler Conley, Isaac and Benjamin Mayo and Micah Schler.
