William Edward Shannon, Jr., 78 of Albany died Monday, February 20, 2012. Funeral arrangements will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 10:00AM at Kimbrell-Stern. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Jason Dillard will officiate.
Mr. Shannon was born in Sioux City, IA and had lived in Albany since 2005, moving from Cordele. He worked as a banker for Planters First in Cordele, GA and was a member of Porterfield United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna Shannon and by his first wife, Jan Shannon.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Shannon of Albany, two sons, Mitch Shannon and his wife, Linda of Panama City Beach, FL and Pat Shannon and his wife, Becki of Atlanta, GA one step daughter, Beth Adams and her husband, John of Tifton, GA, three grandchildren, Mallory Henry, Kasey Shannon and Holt Shannon and four step grandchildren, Shawn Youngblood, Angela Herbet, Ashley Saint and John Adams.
Memorials may be made to Porterfield United Methodist Church, 2200 Dawson Rd, Albany, GA 31707.
